WHO'S THERE?

Just came across this on Facebook and it reminded me of the movie, Sliding Doors, and how there are many possibilities – yes, the fact that we are living inside a fictional world might be an option. I have a world of my own – created it on my drop-leaf table last year, and am now in the process of choosing places where my characters live. I mapped the city plan out on the back side of old wallpaper, coloured some of it in and pinned it to my kitchen wall. I'm a world-builder and make all the rules and everything that comes to pass falls out of my head – even death.

Watching the TV series, Game of ThronesI'm always impressed with the map in the opening credits, and I love the map in The Lord of the Rings books; these things inspire me to make maps – I must expand my world view…fictional world views are much more interesting than those in the real world. Just think, I can invite anyone and anything to dinner and serve up quantities of imagination…and anything might happen at any time during the meal. Who would you invite, and what would you eat…and what might kill someone at that table?

TESTING TESTING

Well, what can I say but, ‘Hello wall.’ I am a little like that woman, Shirley Valentine, but I won’t be ashamed of talking to you – I talk to anyone, me. So this is my first foray into web territory and to tell the truth it’s as easy as falling into an old armchair, isn’t it? I never really had to do anything, except make a note of who I am and my password; this could be the first sign of senility, couldn’t it?

I’ve done this because I’m about to put my cards on the table, go public with poetry, so to speak. Yes, I’m going to publish a book on Kindle so I thought it would be a good exercise to spread the word on how easy/hard it is…what with me not being all that technological minded I mean. Should be interesting. I’m stumped already with the space after the paragraph thing because the version of Word I’m using is so old it doesn’t have a tab for what they call, ‘Layout’ so I’ve no idea how I’ll solve that problem. I couldn’t get to grips with Office 2007 (Word) so am still using 2003! I’m ten years out of date and am looking to dive into the modern world. Ooh, it’s all go here, isn’t it?
